yesterday, working on a garland for a new friend
pausing for some lunch in the sun
'souppa mammas' as my sister always called it
egg + lemon + rice soup she made us
(and makes us still) for when we have a cold
.

Avgolemono! So rich and warm with just a touch of tart. All the way across the world here, my mother used to make it too. The last time she did so was when she stayed for a week when Oliver was just born. I'm sick today. Will call my mom.
