remember that bad knee? it turns out it's bone cancer.
there's not a dry eye in the house, nor an unbroken heart.

"mummy, he can't die now, he needs to live with us for many, many days until i grow older, when i won't be hurting any more."

O, A > thank you so much for your thoughts, for being close. we've had many cats over the years, but this one lodged himself in our hearts ever since he was born in our cupboard :) 13 years ago. i can't begin to explain what he means . . .

c > thank you for the soothing words, yes, so many cats are unlucky, with short, brutal lives.

p > he's 13, but his eyes are full of life. we're hoping for at least a few more months. so hard to let him go.

PA >thank you - and i acknowledge that one can't have the bond without the pain. we've been so lucky to have him.

awful to read.
i feel your pain (of course we are all different, but i've always had cats as companions & i'm a sensitive person...)
i'm terribly sorry that your family & cat must experience this.
13 years i know it is all the most hard, but in a way a gift because it means a lot of love shared.
please write if you need xoxo
